Required Education and Experience:
- Graduation from high school or GED; and
- Must be 18 years of age; and
- Have at least one (1) year of experience working in customer service, recreation, or aquatics programming.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively use computer software, specifically Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated skill of successful multi-tasking.
- Successful completion of a background investigation to the satisfaction of the City.
Available Schedule:
- Monday - Friday, 3:30 PM - 7:30 PM, with the possibility of an occasional weekend shift.
Compensation & Information on Benefits:
The anticipated hiring range for the Administrative Assistant position is $19.92 (first step) to $20.91 or $21.96 (second or third step). The City of Medford determines starting pay based on an evaluation of relevant education, experience, and qualifications as provided by the applicant in their application materials, alongside others who perform work of comparable character consistent with the Oregon Equal Pay Act. Three steps are included in this salary range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.

Examples of Job Duties:
Essential Functions of the Position:
- Assists with the review and correspondence of aquatic staff schedules, swim lesson inquiries, and aquatic rentals.
- With the direction of the Aquatics Supervisor, ensure the safety, enjoyment, and efficiency of the aquatic pool and programs.
- Assist in the organization of pool special events.
- Assists with inventory and ordering of equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Identify opportunities for improving service delivery methods and procedures and identify resource needs.
- Ability to work and interact with participants, staff, and volunteers in a positive manner.
- Capable of performing other duties and activities as assigned by the aquatics supervisor.

- Handles job stress and interact effectively with others in the workplace.
