Bring your customer service skills and bilingual abilities to our Parks & Recreation team as an Administrative Support Assistant. In this part-time role, you’ll be the friendly face and voice helping community members with program registrations, facility reservations, and general inquiries, all while supporting staff to keep daily operations running smoothly. Every day brings opportunities to make a positive impact, whether you’re assisting with projects, coordinating program details, or providing excellent service in a busy office environment. Employees who demonstrate bilingual proficiency in Spanish may be eligible for up to a 5% pay differential.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from high school or GED; and
  • Must be 18 years of age; and
  • One (1) or more years of customer service experience.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, with strong communication skills in both languages.

Flexible Schedule: 

  • Schedule will vary based on departmental needs and employee availability.
Compensation & Information on Benefits:

The anticipated hiring range for the Administrative Support Assistant position is $15.05 (first step) to $15.80 or $16.59 (second or third step). The City of Medford determines starting pay based on an evaluation of relevant education, experience, and qualifications as provided by the applicant in their application materials, alongside others who perform work of comparable character consistent with the Oregon Equal Pay Act. Three steps are included in this salary range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.

Essential Functions of the Position:
  • Responds to requests for information from the general public, internal departments, and employees, including calls, correspondences, department surveys, distributes mail and other clerical tasks. 
  • Assists customers with program registrations and facility reservations.
  • Takes payments and processes refunds in accordance with the department’s policies.
  • Assists the customer service supervisor with various seasonal projects, events, and/or tasks. 
  • Must maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Effective and efficient use of office equipment, computers, and related software.
